A commando of terrorists has prepared an action aimed at the escape of some inmates from the prison in Florence, when there is the intervention of a police patrol. The fire conflict that originates stops the escape, but Agent Dionysis is shot and killed, while Agent Dario Atzeni, hit by four bullets at the height of the groin, will be rescued after a desperate surgery. The third agent, fortunately unharmed, responds to the fire of the terrorists, who throw a hand grenade at him and manage to escape.
The guard Fausto Dionisi leaves his wife and a daughter at an early age.
Among the organizers of the plan is Sergio D’Elia, then a prominent exponent of the First Line. Arrested in May ’78, he was sentenced for assistance in murder, as a principal, to thirty years in prison, then reduced to 25 on appeal and finally halved in application of the law on dissociation from terrorism and for other legal benefits, being released after twelve years. In 1993 he served in the Radical Party and founded the association ‘Nobody touches Cain’.
In 2000 he was rehabilitated, with a judgment of the Court of Rome.
In 2006 he was elected to the Italian Parliament as a deputy of the Rosa nel Pugno party and obtained the position of Secretary of the Chamber of Deputies.
