1979
November 19, Bardi (PR)
Luciano Milani
, 39 years old, Carabiniere Officer

The robbery took place at 12 o’clock on November 19, 1979. The robbers, saying the phrase: “this is a proletarian robbery, the money is for the imprisoned comrades of the Red Brigades,” left with a stolen car and a loot of over 20 million lire.
Luciano Milani, engaged in the search operations for the two terrorists, was inside a trattoria identifying two suspicious customers when he was mortally wounded by treacherously fired gunshots by one of the terrorists. During the escape, the two (note: Augusto Abati and Patrizio Mazzanti) abandoned a bag with part of the stolen money in the restaurant.
Luciano Milani was posthumously awarded the Gold Medal for Civil Valor on June 1, 2004.
