On the evening of April 17, in Turin, the Sicilian immigrant Tonino Miccichè, 25, a former worker at Fiat, dies, fired after an arrest. He is a Lotta Continua militant: he is killed by a gunshot to the head fired by Paolo Fiocco. The killer is a Cisnal activist and security guard of the “Citians of the Order”. Miccichè has been directing the occupation of the social housing of Falchera, a dormitory district of Turin, for seven months. On the evening of April 17, a quarrel arises between the Committee and Fiocco for the assignment of a garage of the I.A.C.P. (Autonomous Institute of Social Housing). In fact, Paolo Fiocco occupies two garages and the Employment Committee requires one. Miccichè intervenes to put peace in the heated discussion born in the courtyard in front of the garage. Tonino as soon as he sees the security guard meets him to try to smooth out the contrast, but Fiocco shoots him in the forehead. He will get by with a few years in prison.
