Ugo Venturini English version

1970
April 18, Genoa
Ugo Venturini, 32 years old, construction worker and C.I.S.N.A.L. trade unionist.

During a rally in Almirante in Piazza Verdi, stones and bottles rained down on the participants. The intent of the throwers, from the extra-parliamentary left and never identified, is to prevent the rally. Venturini, an MSI militant and Red Cross volunteer, is hit on the back of the head by a Coca Cola bottle filled with sand. He does not die immediately: his agony ends the following May 1st, in hospital, due to a wound infection. The newspaper “Lotta Continua” headlined that day: “Fascist Venturini executed”.
